A very popular Membee feature is the "eBilling" functionality. In a nutshell, eBilling makes it easy to:

  • designate which members have decided to opt in to eBilling for membership invoices, event invoices, or both
  • deliver both membership and event invoices to the purchaser via email in the batch membership and event billing processes
  • customize the template for the email used to deliver the link to your purchasers
  • customize the look of the eBilling invoice – add your logo, as an example
  • allow purchasers to pay an invoice online using a credit card (if you have a payment gateway setup), otherwise it can be printed

That's great stuff but typically, the member is required to use their member username and password to login to view and pay the invoice. This can be a barrier for collecting payments from members who don’t know their username and password, even with even with Membee's easy-to-use "Forgot Password" feature there to assist the member with login.

Here is the "default" process which secures access to the eBills with the member login.

You can quickly configure Membee to allow the member to get to the eBill without having to login. The member’s eBill is presented to them on a web page that you can manage  in Membee’s Website Content section. To disable the member login, we simply need to remove the member login requirement on the eBilling page.

With that done, the process loses a big step now looks like this:

While the process was already straightforward before this change, removing the member login requirement reduces the number of clicks to pay an eBill even further  – to just 3 clicks to payment!

We posted a detailed article in Membee’s Tips & Tricks knowledgebase (you’ll need your Membee username and password to access it) to walk you through the details of configuring eBilling as we have described above. We’ve included directions for those who are currently using eBilling and for those who are just about to launch it.
