A few of our clients graciously consented to help us test our new directory and to let us use their directory to show you some of the new features. This article is the first in a series that will highlight directory listings of these organizations and some of their members so that you can see the new features in action.
Our First Volunteer
The Greater Kitchener Waterloo Chamber of Commerce represents over 1,600 employers with 74,000 employees in one of Canada’s most progressive and innovative business regions. An hour west of Toronto, the greater Kitchener Waterloo area is strategically located in Waterloo Region within Canada’s Technology Triangle. The region has one of the fastest growing economies in Canada with a current population of approximately 500,000 people. The Chamber is a business association that offers a broad range of products and services that provide networking, marketing, and educational opportunities for its members and their employees. As well, the Chamber is involved in a number of initiatives designed to strengthen local health care services, educational institutions, and the local labour market. The Greater Kitchener Waterloo Chamber of Commerce, will celebrate 125 years of community service in 2011-2012.

So What’s New?
So much it’s hard to list it all but lets start with a couple of major changes.
A New Listing Layout
We have changed the listing layout to accommodate all of the new information that can be included in a listing
Multiple Contacts
The older version of the directory would only display a single Main Contact name in the listing. Many of our clients expressed an interest in being able to display multiple contacts for listings. The new directory lets you create multiple contact listings and each of these listings can be much richer and can include information about the person too.

Contacts Have Their Own Listing
Now contacts have their own listing which can be as simple as their name and phone number or they can contain all of the same kinds information as their employer’s listing.
Social Networking
Social networking links have been added to the member profile in Membee and are now an integral part of the listings too.Tweet and Share links have also been added.

When existing directories are converted main contacts in the listings will have their own person listing created automatically.
