The holiday season is a time of year when charitable giving and philanthropy is top of mind for many. Did you know that you can use Membee Events to make it easy for your members to donate to a favorite cause? Collect donations for all types of funds like:
- Scholarships or Bursaries
- Building Funds
- Political Action Committees
- Charities your association wishes to support
- Direct donations to fund your operation
Use the Events module to set up online donation pages so that your members can easily contribute to the causes that are near and dear to your hearts and theirs.
Set Up A Donations Landing Page
One way to encourage your members to donate is to set up each fund or charity as a separate donation event and then list them all on a Donations Landing Page.
The form collects their information, they choose the amount they wish to donate and pay online right then and there.
The donation items can be for set amounts OR you can simply let your members determine their own contributions.
Instead of a landing page you might place an
Event Feed on your home page.
Your members click on a link in the feed to be taken directly to the fund they wish to support.

Create A Single Event
Another option is to create a single event that lists all of your favorite charities and funds on a single event page.
Simply put a navigation link to that event from a Donate button or link on your menu.

Easily Report Donations
Quickly report contributions to charitable funds using Membee’s built in Events and Accounting Reports. You can even apply a specific GL Account to the Event or Item automatically as the contributions are made.
- Cash Receipts Report – Run this report filtered for your specific event or event item to get a quick list of donations made.
- Event Reports (Filtered by your Donation Event or Event Item) – Run the Event Account Balance Report to get a list of all donations on a fund by fund basis with purchaser information included.
- Accounting GL Reports – If you have set up your events or event items to use specific GL codes you can run Membee’s GL account reports to get totals for each fund.

Send an Email to Solicit Support Next Year
Use the information in the Event Account Balance Report or Membee’s Integrated Email functions to quickly send off a request for donations for next year’s fund. Members who have previously donated to a particular cause are likely to want to donate again next year.
