Here’s the concept on how to have Membee work with your favorite social media management tool to AUTOMATICALLY tweet your new members. We boiled the idea down into this quick 2 minute video:
A couple of key points about this feature:
- It’s easy to setup and you only set it up once
- After it is setup you just go about adding new members to Membee just like normal – no additional work to tweet them
- Drive traffic back to your website – if you’re using a Membee member directory on your site, the new tweet contains a link to the member’s listing in your member directory,driving traffic to your site while having Membee automatically gather “referral” stats for the the new member
- Talk about a “we promote our members” member benefit!

Pretty cool right? We caught up with Membee user Nicole Gibson from the Ajax-Pickering Board of Trade (@APBoardofTrade) to gather her thoughts on what this feature does for their organization and for the APBOT’s growing membership.
“The new member automatic tweet is a wonderful new addition to Membee’s features, and there are many benefits to using this function.
Through twitter, we can offer another benefit of membership: potential sales for new members through tweets to our followers (800+), who are all potential customers. Our followers can connect directly to the new member’s website or online directory listing by simply clicking on the link in the tweet. The automatic new member tweets save time in physically having to post the links on our Twitter page.
These tweets are also a way to target the attention of potential future members. From an organization’s perspective, it’s another way to get recognized. Having the link to the new member’s website or online listing is essentially free advertising. Who doesn’t like free? Not to mention the idea of our followers re-tweeting to all of their followers, and so on…the potential for business is endless
Automatic tweets also offer a timely and consistent way to update our followers (other members, committee members, and directors, etc…) on new members as they join – and it doesn’t require any extra work on my part. LOVE it!! PLUS, it is extremely easy to set up, it took hardly any time at all – why wouldn’t you take full advantage of it? All-in-all, a great addition to Membee!”

This is cool. We don’t use HooteSuite, but we do have the new member feed set up on our Facebook page. If I’m not using HooteSuite, where exactly do I paste the url referred to in the video?
