We are excited to announce the seventh addition to the team, the Stripe payment gateway! Membee currently supports six payment gateways such as; Beanstream, Authorize.net, Payment Express, BluePay, Moneris, and PayPal.

Stripe’s Backstory

Stripe launched in September 2011.

Simple, Flat Pricing Model Bucks the Trend

“There ain’t no such thing as a free lunch” is a popular adage that rings true when it comes to online transaction costs. An emerging and disturbing trend sees the transaction cost varying based on the credit card and more specifically, the type of rewards card used by the purchaser. For example, two members register for your event, one using a basic VISA card and the other using their “double the air miles” or their “cash back on everything you buy” rewards VISA card, you could see two different costs for the same transaction.

On an increasing basis, the cost of providing all those “rewards” is being passed on to your organization in the form of higher transaction fees. Lunch isn’t free because you could be paying for it. Stripe sees a competitive advantage in bucking this trend.

Stripe is proud to have a fixed percentage based fee for each time you accept a credit card payment. The pricing is the same for all the major credit cards being 2.9% + $0.30 (Amex., Visa, MC) for each transaction.
